ThreeSixFive: Create a Culture of Prayer

When I was in Bible school , one day in the cafeteria while everyone was eating, playing pool or talking , one of the student fell down and had a seizure.

In this instance, what would be the first thing that you would do?

I’ll tell you the first thing we did was pray . Everyone stopped what they were doing and prayed in tongues or prayed to God to heal him. I am Most grateful for what culture they taught me at Bible school: prayer. Prayer is extremely important. It should be the first thing we do in most situations.

God can do ANYTHING. He can heal a cough just as He can heal cancer. He can pay off a bill just as easily as He can save someone in a car accident. Have more faith in what God can do because He can do it all but it is our faith that moves and allows Hod to move.

Mark 5:34 your faith has healed you.

Pray in tongues and pray as much as you can through all situations whether things are going bad or things are going be well.

Mark 9:28 All things are possible to him who has faith.

If you are struggling and asking how Do you spend time with God? What is spending time with God? I’d like to suggest this:

  1. Pray by giving thanks to God for the day , for the time you have and welcome Him in during this time.
  2. Read the word for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Pray in tongues. (If you have never done that then ask the lord to baptize you in the Holy Spirit.)
  4. Go into time to pray about what you are going through, pray for others.
  5. Repent.

This is what helped me when I first started being intentional about my time with the lord. Every time you go back then you can extend the time or change the order or allow God to lead you in a different direction.

Remember to have faith and remember that prayer is important.

Remeber that when you do not have anything to say when you pray that Jesus taught us how and He told us to say:

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Hail Mary, full of grace.

In that prayer, God teaches us to show adoration, repentance/contrition, thanksgiving, and supplication/humility. I encourage you to use the prayer above as a guide to prayer everyday. Give thanks to God. Glorify God. Repent. Go to Him in humility, and humbly ask Him for His strength, power or healing.
